ILCC
Outreach Program
Now in its 13th year, the Outreach Program is a major component of the International Latino Cultural Center outreach repertoire. What began as an event of 1,000 attendees has grown into a mini-program of the annual Film Festival with an audience of nearly 5,000 Chicago-area students. Through the generous support of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science Foundation, the ILCC is able to host free daytime film screenings at Festival Theaters for Chicago area schools to attend as a class.
The program gives students an opportunity to view films that are otherwise inaccessible, see Latinos in positive roles, connect with their cultural heritage, learn about the diversity of other cultures, and discuss career options in the arts with film directors.
