The ILCC’s mission is to, through its events, serve as a vehicle to break the barriers created and perpetuated by stereotypes and encourage the audiences to challenge misconceptions of the Latino identity by showing, through cultural expressions, that Latinos are defined by more than 20 different nationalities and come from all social and racial backgrounds.
The Center works citywide with dozens of partners to produce events in museums, concert halls, movie theaters, galleries, community centers, schools, colleges, city parks, and universities. Our goal is to create a home for all Latinos in Chicago; the building of a new, centrally located, state-of-the-art, Pan-Latino cultural complex that will serve both the Latino community and the public at large.
