

In his feature film debut, Gerardo Dorantes explores how organized crime has penetrated the heart of the Tarahumara community in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico through the story of two highly competitive brothers who want to become the best runners in the world. Their dream comes to an end when they are violently recruited by a dangerous cartel as drug runners, putting their family at risk. THE REEL FILM CLUB Presented by The International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago at FACETS
Born out of the Chicago Latino Film Festival, the monthly Reel Film Club is one of the only opportunities in Chicago to experience Spanish and Portuguese language films with English subtitles. Each month, the Reel Film Club celebrates a theme night with a food and drink reception and screening showcasing films and filmmakers from Latin America, Spain and Portugal, followed by a post-screening discussion with a local film critic.
Your $20 ticket includes a themed food reception — appetizers curated to reflect the country of origin of the featured film. The bar is a cash bar. FACETS also has a full concession stand offering popcorn, candy, soda, beer, and wine.
