About the Artists
Gaiteros de Pueblo Santo is a remarkable Colombian musical ensemble founded in 2007 and based in Barranquilla, Colombia. This talented group performs traditional music from the Colombian Caribbean and boasts more than 18 years of artistic excellence. Throughout their impressive trajectory, they have participated in numerous indigenous music festivals, consistently earning top honors for their interpretive and creative quality, but above all for their profound respect for the tradition and cultural identity that defines them.

The ensemble masterfully performs cumbia, gaita, porro, and other ancestral rhythms that tell the stories of their homeland through the ancient instruments of Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Their sound features the haunting melodies of gaita flutes, the driving rhythms of traditional drums (tambor llamador, tambor alegre, and tambora), and passionate vocals that carry forward centuries of musical heritage.

With over 102,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Gaiteros de Pueblo Santo has gained international recognition while staying true to their roots. Their 2020 album “Historias Cantadas” showcases their ability to weave traditional melodies with compelling narratives, creating what they describe as “a narrative and sonic universe called Pueblo Santo.”
The current lineup features exceptional musicians including María José García on tambor llamador, Edinson Rodriguez on tambor alegre, Gilmar Paez on tambora, Argemiro Campos on gaita macho, Marlon Peroza on gaita hembra, Jesus Camacho as lead vocalist, and Mile Antolinez providing backing vocals.
