Get ready for an explosive night of homegrown Chicago talent as two of the city’s most dynamic Latin bands share the stage at Riis Park as part of the FREE concert series Levitt VIBE Chicago Music Series (June 14th – August 16th)! This special double bill showcases the best of Chicago’s Latin alternative scene with two acts that represent the heart and soul of our city’s musical diversity.
The Braided Janes (ChiLatino)

The Braided Janes bring their award-winning “Tropi-alt rock” sound, blending Latin-influenced rhythms with intricate bass lines and thought-provoking bilingual vocals. This family trio—Jessica Rodriguez (vocals, keys, guitar), wife Juny Alvarez (drums, percussion), and brother-in-law Andrew Doyle (bass guitar)—creates music that transcends language and genre barriers. Fresh from recording their latest album “Renacer” in Colombia with Grammy-winning producer Christian Castagno, they deliver socially conscious music with infectious energy.
Los Vicios de Papá (Chilatino)

Los Vicios De Papá complement the evening with their energetic melting pot of ska, reggae, and Latin American genres, creating their own unique sound led by vocalist Rene Lemus. This Chicago Latin ska band fuses cumbia rhythms with ska energy, delivering upbeat performances with songs of hope and change for Latino communities and Chicago as a whole.
