Join Us for an Unforgettable Evening: The Reel Film Club Presents “Dear Gentlemen”

Tuesday, August 26, 2025 | FACETS Cinematheque, Lincoln Park

You’re invited to experience cinema at its finest with The Reel Film Club at FACETS, proudly presented by the International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago (ILCC). This month, we’re thrilled to showcase the award-winning film “Dear Gentlemen” (Estimados Señores) – a powerful historical drama that captivated audiences as the opening night selection of the 41st Chicago Latino Film Festival.

About the Film

“Dear Gentlemen” or Estimados Señores, tells the largely unknown story of women’s suffrage in Colombia through the lens of pioneering activist Esmeralda Arboleda. Directed by accomplished actress, screenwriter, and novelist Patricia Castañeda, this compelling historical drama won the Audience Choice Award for Best Fiction Feature at the 41st Chicago Latino Film Festival, marking a sensational success in its North American premiere this past April.

This thought-provoking film brings to light the untold stories of women who fought for their right to vote, offering audiences both historical insight and contemporary relevance through masterful storytelling and powerful performances.
