FILM SINOPSIS: In this retro-futuristic, tropical-punk twist on Dante’s Inferno, a group of misfits converges at Babel, a legendary dive bar that doubles as purgatory, where La Flaca—the city’s Grim Reaper—presides. Here, souls gamble years of their lives with her, daring to outwit Death Herself. Film critic and our Communications Manager Alejandro Riera ran out of words to describe Gaia del Sol’s feature debut when he reviewed it last year for Third Coast Review: “wild, extravagant, über-campy, imaginative, risk-taking, exhilarating.” It is one of last year’s most original, out there Latin American films featuring an incredibly awesome soundtrack. Some of the events at the ILCC are FREE to attend, in some cases we ask for a suggested donation. In all instances we require you still reserve your tickets as space in some venues is limited.
